The Open University (commonly Open University or OU, but officially "the" is part of its name) is the distance learning university founded and funded by the UK Government. Wavendon Wavendon is a village and civil parish[1] in the south east of the Borough of Milton Keynes and ceremonial Buckinghamshire, England. The village name is an Old English language word, and means 'Wafa's hill'. In the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle in 969 the village was recorded as Wafandun. The ancient village lies just outside the south-east of Milton Keynes itself. The ecclesiastic parish of Wavendon anciently contained the hamlet of Woburn Sands, which became a separate civil parish in 1907. Caldecotte, Milton Keynes Caldecotte is a district in the parish of Walton, Milton Keynes, in ceremonial Buckinghamshire that includes the site of an ancient village of the same name. It is also includes the larger part of Caldecotte Lake, an important balancing lake that manages flood water on the River Ouzel just as it enters Milton Keynes.
